This area of Los Angeles started out as a farming region growing all sorts of crops which favored the climate of Westchester. Not long after, development began and the agricultural land had to make way for the demand in housing that quickly rose. The need for housing units was fueled by the aerospace industry that was flourishing in the area. People made their way to this place which was called Westchester and since then the community has kept on growing.
Part of this neighborhood which is bordered by Playa del Rey, Culver City, Inglewood, and El Segundo, are the Los Angeles International Airport or LAX, the Otis College of Art and Design, and Loyola Marymount University.
